What this role is about:
As a Research Assistant, you will work closely with the Research and Education Lead to collect, analyse and interpret data, providing valuable insights into the intersection of housing instability and climate-related challenges. The position involves engaging with affected communities, conducting interviews, managing research data and preparation of reports, papers and presentations to communicate findings to stakeholders.
What You’ll Be Doing:
- Conducting qualitative and quantitative research, including interviews and surveys with renters experiencing housing precarity and climate impacts.
- Assisting in data collection, organisation and analysis using appropriate tools and software.
- Collaborating with the Research and Education Lead to produce reports and presentations.
- Participating in community outreach efforts to build trust and gather meaningful narratives.
- Ensuring ethical research practices and maintaining confidentiality throughout the project.
What We’re Looking For:
- Experience with research methods, data analysis and community engagement.
- A qualification in, or working towards a qualification in, law, criminology, sociology, social work or similar.
- Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.
- A commitment to equity, inclusion and social impact.
